Another Vegas layout... My Adorable One loves to browse the

cigar shops in Vegas. The smells are incredible and they have such

cool cigar goodies too!! He hardly ever buys anything... he travels with 

his own cigar humidor there!! ;0) But you never know what you might find!!

Another layout from Las Vegas.... I love Las Vegas!!

We go every year whether we need to or not and sometimes

we think about going more often!! We love it.. the activity, the

excitement, the food, the drinks... love it all!! These pics are from a

restaurant at The Wynn... it is called Parasol Down. I love looking at

these umbrellas... they go ohhhh so slowly up and down and turn. Beautiful!!

These pics are from Las Vegas... there is a restaurant in Mandalay Bay and they have this incredible ice cream sampler. They make some pretty weird ice creams - octopus, rum and coke, melons, basil.. just some very different kinds. The fun of it is they give you a sheet and have you write the flavors on it.. if you guess them right then your ice cream sampler is free... otherwise it is $18. They start you off with a 'freebie' and tell you what one flavor is.... well thank goodness we got ONE right!! ;0) Fun!!

These pics were taken on the way to Woodland... love the Sunflower fields! My favorite flower is the Sunflower... so happy and cheerful all the time.. :0)

Aria by Night

This is done with a Let's Scrap Sketch....

This isn't my favorite layout... it was hard to do with pics like these. I love the pics and they do shine thru on the layout. I used a black'ish paper for the backing and used Glimmer Mist on plain white cardstock for the rest... I wanted the shimmer and the colors in the pics... it worked! I also got to play with my 'Smooch' that I have had for years... ;0)

King of My Heart

This one was fun to do... going thru some turmoil here at home with my youngest son. My Adorable One is my rock and together we can get thru anything so I wanted to do a layout of him... this sketch and this pic worked out great! I used Graphic 45 papers and it turned out awesome!!

Let's Scrap - Scrap Your Stash Challenge

This was a challenge layout for Let's Scrap's - Scrap Your Stash Group. If you aren't part of the group you should join it! It is all about using up your Stash... and you all know you have tons of it!! :0) I am doing the monthly challenges for awhile longer for Betty Anne and Debby... so come and play with me!!

The Challenge was to: Use at Least:

5 different colors of cardstock

3 different shapes - anywhere on your layout (squares, circles, octagons, rectangles)

4 stickers

10 eyelets or brads (if you don't have eyelets or brads use some bling!)

I haven't updated my blog for awhile.. they changed things around on me and I was afraid I would hit the wrong button and all my goodies would be gone.. :0) But I figured it out and now I have some catching up to do!!

I did up "Tea Cups".. these are pics of my boys and 2 of the foster boys from long ago... these were from 2005!! Ohhh my boys were so little then... what happened to them?? Now they are 18 and 25!!! Where does the time go... :0)

Just Chillin'

This is based off from this weeks sketch at Let's Scrap.... 

I had a hard time working with this sketch... I do love the way it turned out but it was working out of my comfort zone for sure! I used only one side of the sketch too... Try it and post it in the gallery at Let's Scrap. I would love to see your work with it!! ;0 

May's LOAD...

Here are more of the layouts that I did up for my May LOAD Challenge. On facebook I have created a group and we are doing 3 LOAD's a year the next one is scheduled for September.. if you want to be part of it look me up on facebook 'Cathy van de Bruinhorst'. I am doing a personal LOAD for the year and up at the top of the blog is my ticker... I'm not doing to bad!! ;0) 

All of the layouts below were made for Let's Scraps InterNational Scrapbooking Month Challenges. All were done using LS sketches as well...

Bodies Revealed... this was a challenge at Let's Scrap to do a layout without using pics

 This one was using this sketch with hexagon shaped in it... love this pic of My Adorable One!!

 This was a sketch from last month... a layout I did up for a friends Vegas album...

 This layout I'm not happy with but with so many pics to scrapbook I don't think I am going to re-do it. The challenge was to do a layout of where you live and use your countries flag somewhere on the layout as well. I had lost my mojo and struggled thru this layout... :-/

 I'm not a big 'card' girl, so this is based on a card sketch. We were getting ready to go to Vegas and I made up a little coupon book for My Adorable One... 4 cigars, dinner at The Wicked Spoon, foot rub, back rub, Margaritaville drinks... just fun stuff like that... :0)

 This layout was Mindi and My challenge at LS... we did a 'A La Carte' Challenge... we started with 3 patterned papers, a layered title and the sketch and then for the next 5 days we added embelli's to it. We even played with a zipper... mine is supposed to be a butterfly in case you are wondering.. ;0)

 This was another challenge... using a banner title and a bingo card. I used some Simple Stories goodies on this... :0)

 Another challenge... Denise had us look at a pic she pulled off from Pintrest and using that we were to create a layout. The pic had blue and white coloring and had a tree painted on the wall. As soon as I saw the tree on the wall I thought of these pics and this is what I came up with... love it!!

 This is a sketch from last month as well... I had fun with this one. One of my best friends went to Hawaii with her husband for their 10th Anna... they brought me home a Starbucks card so I had to do up a layout about the fact that they went to Hawaii and all I got was a Starbucks card... lol Love the pics that she took, I totally swiped them off from facebook!!!

So this catches me up from May... tomorrow I will post my first layouts for June as soon as it is posted on Let's Scrap.. ;0)
